Articles On This Site

My work spans NLP research, software development, and the occasional sysadmin or IT task. To that end most articles here will probably comprise solutions for technical minutiae I run into when doing these things, as much for my own reference as well as others.

Our lab focuses on NLP research and methods development, this means heavy use of Python and libraries like Huggingface Transformers, PyTorch, and more recently LangGraph and LangChain for experiments and prototypes. Much of our lab's industrial strength software is written in Java.

I grow and maintain my skills via development projects in domains and using languages/tooling distinct from what I use in the workplace. Recently that includes Elixir and OCaml, along with projects in more preliminary stages using Rust and Swift. Solutions from those projects should get turned into articles as well, ideally filling in gaps in documentation and tutorials.

Some day I might post "higher level" writings on NLP, software development in general, or related topics.
